@copybrief does not seem to work

@copybrief does not seem to work

I have my python file like below where I have a class defined and a function within it.
At the top of the file, I have added some documentation.
I also want to list of functions supported by the class with brief documentation for the member functions.
The link for the function  (using @ref) works, but the brief documentation (@copybrief) is not showing up.
I was expecting the function brief description to show up at the module level.

I would appreciate if someone can help here.
